Discovery, Decisions, Development & Determination (4D's)
The program is based on the development of the 4D's: Discovery, Decisions, Development & Determination. Creative Visions Social Services 4D's program is designed to provide exciting opportunities to youth in junior high and high school to get involved in their community. The basic approach is leadership development, decisions making, personal development, community service, and educational development. Activities focus on development of self-esteem, personal and social achievements, field trips and more.
Juveniles Obtaining Business Skills (JOBS)
The basic approach of the Juveniles Obtaining Business Skills (JOBS) program is to offer youth ages 14-17 extensive and expanded opportunities in Pre-Employment Skills Training and Basic Academic Skills Training Components. Students learn job training / job skills preparation that focuses on resumes, applications, interviews, role-playing, office techniques, clerical training, computer training, graphic design, and telecommunication. Training sessions consist of small group interaction, "one on one" individual training, group mentorship and job shadowing.
Teen Youth Council (TYC)
The TYC is an innovative youth program composed of 25 students from local junior high schools. Members participate in various activities; provide information about activities at their local schools; and take part in planning, organizing, coordinating, and carrying out of various projects. The program is designed to provide youth in grades 6-8 with the opportunity to explore their minds and discuss issues that can and will have an impact upon their lives. Leadership skill building, in-service training, and group work are techniques for growth and development.
Student Outreach Services (SOS)
This program is designed to utilize youth as valuable resources in giving back to their community. The selected youth participate in a one-year community service project designed to improve the lives of families and promote the understanding of problems, issues, and programs within their community. Each student is asked to volunteer at least 40 hours during the school.
(TAP) Teen Ambassador Program
The TAP is a youth advisory committee to CVSS's Board of Management. The advisory committee is composed of 25-30 students from local high schools and provides support and guidance to CVSS from a youth perspective. TAP members participate on various activities; provide information about activities at their local schools; and take part in planning, organizing, coordinating, and carrying out of various projects that effect the youth within the DFW Metroplex.
Blacks Exemplifying Support & Togetherness "BEST" Mentoring Program
Creative Visions Social Services also include a mentorship component. There are three different types of mentors. The Friendship Connection mentor is a community leader who visits the site monthly to teach teens about leadership qualities and how to become a leader. Through joint volunteer projects, our members learn the rewards of contributing to others. On the job mentors are chosen for their expertise in their particular career field. They spend time teaching teens about their career and the type of training and experience necessary to be successful in that field. The "BEST" mentor is a community volunteer that provides one to one mentoring.
